AI-Assisted Grants Adjudication

AI- Assisted Grants Adjudication

Modernizing Federal and State Grants Review Through Responsible AI

Automate compliance screening. Score applicant risk in real time. Produce fully auditable decisions. Preserve human judgment on every award.

The Problem

Grant agencies face rising application volumes, more complex Funding Opportunity Document (NOFO/ FOA) requirements, and growing oversight expectations while staffing remains flat. Legacy manual review creates inconsistent decisions, extended cycle times, and audit risk. The status quo is not scalable.

The Solution

The AI-Assisted Grants Adjudication Accelerator applies a two-phase AI pipeline to automate the most time-intensive, error-prone steps in the pre-award process.

How It Works

Phase 1 — LLM Compliance Engine: Ingests the FOA and validates each application against 20+ eligibility and compliance rules. Noncompliant applications are automatically routed out.

Phase 2 — RAG Risk Intelligence: Queries public data sources to build an entity risk profile and composite risk score for every applicant before reviewer assignment.

Reviewer Dashboard: Surfaces Phase 1 compliance verdicts, Phase 2 risk flags, and source citations. Every action is timestamped in an immutable FedRAMP audit log.

Governance & Data Sources

Human reviewers retain final authority on all award decisions:

  • NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0)
  • OMB Memorandum M-24-10 — AI Governance
  • FedRAMP-authorized cloud infrastructure
  • Zero Trust Architecture (NIST SP 800-207)
  • SAM.gov, FAPIIS, GSA Exclusions
  • OFAC Sanctions, IRS 990 Financials
  • Federal Audit Clearinghouse findings
  • Adverse media via commercial providers
