Imran Akram is co-founder and CEO of NuAxis Innovations, where he is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and financial and operational management.
Akram has more than two decades of experience in the IT industry, including more than 15 years working with U.S. Government agencies. Prior to founding NuAxis in 2002, Akram served as vice president to two software engineering companies; there, he developed a relationship with the National Park Service. That relationship inspired him to start his own company dedicated to providing IT solutions to the U.S. Government and today NuAxis has more than 30 contracts and 400 employees in 22 states.
Akram holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (Lahore), a master’s in computer science from George Washington University, a master’s in the management of information technology from the University of Virginia and he has completed the OPM program at Harvard Business School. Akram also serves on the board of directors for the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs and Professionals (OPEN) D.C. and was appointed to the Virginia Asian Advisory Board by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.
